It’s not easy being a conscious consumer, and we know you want to make a difference in the world through the purchases you make. We understand how difficult that can be. So let us make your decision easy for you…

We only offer certified organic coffee. Be mindful of the coffee roasters that only add organic coffees to their lineup because of the demand; not because they truly believe in it.

In 2007 we reduced our carbon footprint as much as we could and planted 2400 trees to offset the balance.

We opt for certified fair-trade coffees whenever possible, but still support some small coffee estates that grow organically, and treat their workers ethically, along with being good stewards of the land.

We are local to Humboldt County in northern California and support our community with time, money, and product.

We package our coffee in recycled and recyclable paper bags (just tear off the tin-tie before adding the bag to the recycle bin). We refuse to use bags that will be here long after we are!

Whenever possible, we recycle shipping material from products we’ve received. You’ll never know what kind of box we’ll use.

Please note that all our coffees are packaged in two-pound bags (equivalent to almost three 12oz bags)  saving you money, and saving Mother Earth by using less packaging.
